Other \the other\others\the others\another 的區別：
the other 是形容詞要加名詞，是特指的。表示其他的。
other 是泛指的，也是形容詞要加名詞
the others是一個名詞，后面不需要加什么名詞了，是特指的 。表示二者之中的另外一個，或者是兩部分之中的另外一部分
others 是名詞，是泛指的
another意為“另一個”，特指與此是同種物質的另一個，用于三個或以上
1.other可作形容詞或代詞，做形容詞時，意思是“別的，其他”，泛指“其他的（人或物）”。如：Ask some other people. 問問別人吧！
2.the other指兩個人或物中的一個時，只能用the other，不能用another，此時的other作代詞。如：On the other side of the street，there is a tall tree. 在街道的另一邊，有一棵大樹。
the other后可加單數名詞，也可加復數名詞，此時的other作形容詞。如：
Mary is much taller than the other girls. 瑪麗比其他的女孩高得多。
3.others是other的復數形式，泛指“另外幾個”，“其余的”。指“剩余的人/物”(指大部分)在句中可作主語、賓語。如： Give me some others, please. 請給我別的東西吧！
4.the others意思是“其他東西，其余的人”特指某一范圍內的“其他的（人或物）”是the other的復數形式,指“其余的人/物”,(指全部)。如： give me some other apples.=give me some others.
5.another=an+ other，既可作形容詞，也可作代詞，只能用于三個或更多的人或物，泛指同類事物中的三者或三者以上的“另一個”，只能代替或修飾單數可數名詞。如：
I don’t like this one. Please show me another. 我不喜歡這一個，請給我看看另一個。

other,another,others,the others,the other的用法和區別
other及其變化形式在初中教材中多次出現，而且它的變化形式很多，有以下幾種：the other, others, the others, another 等。它們的用法現歸納如下；
1.other可作形容詞或代詞，做形容詞時，意思是“別的，其他”，泛指“其他的（人或物）”。如：
Do you have any other question(s)?
你還有其他問題嗎？
Ask some other people.
問問別人吧！
Put it in your other hand.
把它放在你另一只手里。
2.the other指兩個人或物中的一個時，只能用the other，不能用another，此時的other作代詞。如：
He has two daughters. One is a nurse, the other is a worker.
他有兩個女兒，一個是護士，另一個是工人。
3.others是other的復數形式，泛指“另外幾個”，“其余的”。在句中可作主語、賓語。如：
Some of us like singing and dancing, others go in for sports.
我們一些人喜歡唱歌和跳舞，其余的從事體育活動。
Give me some others, please.
請給我別的東西吧！
There are no others.
沒有別的了。
4.the others意思是“其他東西，其余的人”。特指某一范圍內的“其他的（人或物）”。是the other的復數形式。如：
Two boys will go to the zoo, and the others will stay at home.
兩個男孩將去動物園，其余的留在家里。
the others=the other +復數名詞，這在第2條中已經有所介紹。
5.another=an+ other，既可作形容詞，也可作代詞，只能用于三個或更多的人或物，泛指同類事物中的三者或三者以上的“另一個”，只能代替或修飾單數可數名詞。如：
I don’t like this one. Please show me another.
我不喜歡這一個，請給我看看另一個。
I have three daughters. One is a nurse, another is a teacher and another is a worker.
我有三個女兒。一個是護士，另一個是教師，還有一個是工人。
else表示“另外的”表示“除此之外 ，還有”，相當于besides,如：

這些不定代詞不僅在含義上有單復數之分，而且在用法上有泛指(無the)和特指(有the)之別。其用法區別可歸納如下：
1. 指單數時的用法指單數時，若泛指用another，若特指用 the other。如：Give me another (one). 另外給我一個。
Shut the other eye, please. 請把另一只眼睛也閉上。
2. 指復數時的用法指復數時，若泛指用 other(后接復數名詞)，若特指用the other(后接復數名詞)。如：There are other ways of doing it. 做這事還有其他的辦法。
Where have the other students gone? 其他學生都到哪里去了？
3. other的用法others永遠表示復數意義(且其后不能再接名詞)。其用法大致相當于)“other+復數名詞”，同樣地 the others 大致相當于“the other＋復數名詞”。如：Other people [Others] may not think that way. 別的人可能不這樣想。
He is cleverer than the others [the other students] in her class. 他比班上其他學生聰明。
4. another的用法another一般只能表單數，且其后接名詞也只能接單數名詞。但是若其后有數詞或 few 修飾時，則也可接復數名詞。如：We need another few chairs. 我們還需要幾把椅子。
In another two weeks it"ll be finished. 再過兩個星期就可做完了。
5. 與 some連用與 some 對比使用時，用 others(此時與 some 同義)。如：Some say yes, and others say no. 有人說對，有人說不對。
other后既可接可數名詞復數形式又可接不可數名詞，如：可數，other pencils 其它的鉛筆，other students 其他的學生。不可數other tea 別的/其它的茶，other information 別的/其它消息。 other用法的注意事項： 1)泛指另一個用another。 2)一定范圍內兩人(物)，一個用one，另一個用the other。 3)一定范圍內三者，一個用one，另一個用one (another)，第三個可用the other，a third。 4)一定范圍內，除去一部分人/物，剩余的全部用the others。 5)泛指別的人或物時，用others當在一定范圍內，除去一部分后，剩余部分但不是全部時，也用others。
other的衍生詞
the other 定指其它的……，其后可接可數名詞和單數，如： the other book 另外的一本書， the other map 另一張地圖， 其后也可跟可數名詞的復數形式，如： the other flowers 其他的花朵， the other teachers 其它的老師們， 還可以接不可數名詞，如：the other water 剩下的水，the other beer 別的啤酒 others 其用法相當于復數名詞，此詞不能用作定語，表示的意思是“不具體的某些東西”，如： This chemical is poisonous . Others are poisonous , too . ( others = other chemicals ) 但是如果others前用了the ，則表示具體的別的東西。如： I don’t want these books . Please give me the others .( the others = the other books another，another 指另一個，沒有固定的范圍。 比如：this dress is dirty,please change another one for me.這件裙子臟了，再給我換一件吧。
1.other和others均表示不確指意義，其中other后可以修飾名詞，而others后不能再接名詞，兩者的關系可描述為：others=other+復數名詞。如：
He never thinks of others. 他從來不為別人著想。
I don’t like these books. Show me some others. 我不喜歡這些書，再拿一些給我看。
第一句中的others=other people，意為“其他人”“別人”，泛指其他所有人；第二句中的others=other books，意為“其他的書”。
但是，若要表示確指意義，我們就在other和others前面使用定冠詞，同樣地，other后可以修飾名詞，而others后不能再接名詞，兩者的關系仍然存在the others=the other+復數名詞。如：
I started last in the race but I soon caught up with the others. 我在賽跑中最后一個起跑，但不久就趕上了其他人。
句中的the others=the other people，意為“其他人”，其中的定冠詞特指參加賽跑的所有其他人。
注意：the other后除接復數名詞外，還可以接單數名詞，此時不能用the others代替。如：
This seat is free; the other seat is taken. 這個座位空著，那個座位有人。
2. 常用慣用表達
①one...the other表示“(兩者中的)一個……另一個……”。如：
What I say goes in at one ear and out at the other. 我說話他是一只耳朵進，另一只耳朵出。
②one...the others表示“(好幾個中的)一個……其余都……”。如：
Of their five children, one is in China and the others are abroad. 他們有五個小孩，一個在中國，其余的都在國外。
注：若為三者，想要表示“一個……另一個……剩下的一個……”，可用one...another...the other [the third...]；若為四者，可用one...another...another [a third]...the other [the fourth, the last]。
③some...the others表示“一些……其他一些的……”。如：
The search party was divided into two groups. Some went to the right, the others went to the left. 搜尋小組一分為二，一部分向右，另一部分人向左。
④some…others表示“有的……有的……”。如：
Some people build while others destroy. 有些人建設而另一些人則破壞。
注：該結構也可說成some…some。如：
Some of us agree, some disagree. 我們有些人同意，有些人不同意。
